UPI completes 10 years on 25 August 2026, transforming India's digital payments ecosystem. Transaction volume grew from 1.78 crore to 24,162+ crore, while transaction value rose from ₹0.07 lakh crore to ₹314 lakh crore. With 741 banks, operations in 11 countries, and nearly 49% of global real-time payment volume, UPI has emerged as a major pillar of India's Digital Public Infrastructure and financial inclusion.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), through MeitY Startup Hub (MSH), has launched GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Cohort 3 to support aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, students and early-stage startup founders. Selected innovators can receive financial assistance of up to ₹10 lakh, along with incubation, mentorship, product development and ecosystem support, with applications open until 3 September 2026.
Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan launched India’s first non-GMO, high-expansion popcorn maize hybrid seed at Musunuru in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh. The indigenous hybrid is aimed at reducing dependence on imported hybrid technology, strengthening farmer incomes and promoting technology, innovation and self-reliance in Indian agriculture.
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, and Cultus Education have launched a nationwide cloud and AI skilling initiative in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The initiative aims to provide foundational cloud and AI literacy to 1.5 lakh learners and intensive, job-ready training to 10,000 participants through AWS re/Start, with a special focus on youth from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India
The Ken–Betwa Link Project is India's first river-interlinking project under the National Perspective Plan to enter the implementation stage. The project aims to transfer water from the Ken River basin to the Betwa River basin and address water scarcity, irrigation and drinking-water challenges in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. It is an important topic for UPSC, UPPSC, State PCS and other competitive examinations.
The **Revamped Khelo India Scheme** is the flagship sports programme of the **Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports** with an outlay of **₹36,441 crore (2026–31)**. It promotes grassroots sports through talent identification, better infrastructure, school integration, coach accreditation, and digital athlete tracking. The scheme creates a pathway from school-level sports to international competitions, including the Olympics.
