UPI Completes 10 Years: India’s Digital Payments Revolution

UPI completes 10 years on 25 August 2026, transforming India's digital payments ecosystem. Transaction volume grew from 1.78 crore to 24,162+ crore, while transaction value rose from ₹0.07 lakh crore to ₹314 lakh crore. With 741 banks, operations in 11 countries, and nearly 49% of global real-time payment volume, UPI has emerged as a major pillar of India's Digital Public Infrastructure and financial inclusion.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), through MeitY Startup Hub (MSH), has launched GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Cohort 3 to support aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers, students and early-stage startup founders. Selected innovators can receive financial assistance of up to ₹10 lakh, along with incubation, mentorship, product development and ecosystem support, with applications open until 3 September 2026.
